Expert Vote Winner

It has been a great few weeks for Example artist, Helen Stone. She’s been busy with a self-directed show on the King’s Road with her former college art group, LondonCP8, but also scooped an exciting prize at the inaugural Liberty Specialty Markets Art Award.

The 2018-19 LSM Art Award picked work from the recent grad shows to display at the company’s office – the iconic ‘walkie talkie’ building on London’s Fenchurch Street. Helen’s series Classification of Unpaid Domestic Duties was chosen alongside work by two of her fellow Art Academy students and four students from the MA course at The Slade.

The work on show has since been judged by an expert panel including artists, an art historian and London gallerist as well as being viewed by the wider global staff of LSM on an online platform resulting in two further awards  – the Expert Panel Vote picked up by Helen and the Staff Vote won by her fellow Art Academy graduate, Sam King.

The brilliant initiative to connect artists with businesses is aided by newplatform.art and all the students receive payment for showing their work for a year at the LSM offices, work is offered for sale commission-free and all the recipients receive mentoring and professional development sessions as their prize. Helen would like to thank all involved.
