Example artist Sheri Gee spent February 2018 working away at a 30 in 30 painting challenge – to paint 30 seed packets in 30 days.
Joining hundreds of other artists taking part in Leslie Saeta’s biannual 30 in 30 challenge, each day Sheri chose another packet from her collection and treated it as a mini still life.
Painting in oils on twice-primed water colour paper, each painting is A4, featuring both vegetables, salad and flower varieties.
The challenge’s aim is to be habit forming – to help artists establish a daily habit of painting. Though artists are encouraged to complete 30 days, the very act of trying is the main thing, no matter how many they actually achieve.
Sheri managed the challenge in a little over 30 days, 33 to be exact. Persistence is the key!
