As a local art group, our aim has always been to get out into the community and inspire the people of the town.
For the last two months, Example artist Helen Stone’s portraits of volunteers at beautiful National Trust Standen have been on show at the house in the South Spare bedroom.
Helen started painting the volunteers last summer and it is hoped that her portraits will encourage local people to consider volunteering too. The exhibition includes a bio for each sitter, explaining their role, a bit about their previous careers, their volunteer experience and what motivated them to first get involved.
The show is on until 15 April 2018 and Easter is a great time to visit – the tulips are coming into bloom and there is a great children’s trail on for the next two weeks which includes a mask, colouring in and of course chocolate. No need to book.
